Paralegal by Definition

“A legal assistant or paralegal is a person, qualified by education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible.” American Bar Association

A paralegal cannot provide you with any legal advice, or represent you in a court of law. If you have a situation that is beyond the scope of a paralegal, we are happy to assist in finding the right attorney for you.

  • What does Franklin Paralegal Services do?
We provide professional document preparation and procedural guidance for individuals navigating legal matters on their own. We specialize in divorce, allocation of parental rights, guardianship, small estates, letters of demand, and more. We are not attorneys and do not give legal advice.
  • Are you a law firm?
No. Franklin Paralegal Services is not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice, represent you in court, or interpret the law. We prepare legal documents and help you understand procedural steps so you can represent yourself with confidence.
  • Do you offer consultations?
We offer a consultation to assess your needs and determine the appropriate service. If your matter falls outside our scope, we’ll let you know upfront. Our fee is $85 and that fee goes towards your service fee.
  • Do you work with organizations?
Yes — but only those whose mission aligns with our own: supporting individuals who are representing themselves. If your organization helps community members access affordable legal resources, we may be able to partner with you.
  • How long does it take to receive my documents?
Standard turnaround time is 3–5 business days after we receive your completed intake and payment. Rush services are available for an additional fee.
  • What are your prices?
What are your prices? Our flat-rate pricing is transparent and affordable. Some of our most common services include: • Divorce Without Children – $699 • Divorce With Children – $899 • Allocation of Parental Rights – $499 • Guardianship – $599 • Letters of Demand – $175 • Small Estate – $399 Optional add-ons are available and detailed on service page.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer payment plans. However, full payment is required before document preparation begins.
  • What happens after I submit my intake form?
Once your form is received, we review your information and prepare to begin drafting your documents. You will receive an agreement to sign and a secure invoice. After payment is made, your documents will be prepared and sent to you for review, via a secure email exchange along with filing instructions.
  • Do you file the documents for me?
No, we do not file documents on your behalf unless explicitly stated. However, we provide step-by-step filing instructions and unlimited email support to help you through the process.
  • What if I need revisions?
Two rounds of revisions are included with your service, as long as they are requested within 7 business days of receiving your documents. Additional revisions are available for a fee.
  • Are your services refundable?
All sales are final. Due to the custom nature of our work, we do not offer refunds once document preparation has begun.
